Overview

ASP is a radically different recruitment to recruitment organisation.

What makes us different?

In this current market, finding a new job is difficult enough. However, finding the right job is even more difficult. We are committed to finding Recruiters the best career to suit their personal needs and circumstances. In order to do this, we spend time interviewing and psychologically assessing candidates' unique strengths and weaknesses.

  • we have a three month client rebate period and therefore we have no interest in placing candidates inappropriately.
  • our psychological assessment service is offered free of charge to candidates who are serious about changing their job

Commitment to Our Clients

ASP specialise in the recruitment to recruitment sector. Our aim is to revolutionise the industry by increasing levels of professionalism and reducing the staff turnover. This benefits the individual and recruitment consultancy alike.

  • Our model allows ASP to be up to 70% accurate in finding medium and high performing Recruitment Consultants, thus reducing drop out rates and staff disruption (unstructured interviews are about 40% valid). Since we will only work with medium and high performing recruitment consultants, their recruitment will have a positive impact on your revenue.
  • ASP's staff are Recruitment Professionals, Psychologists or trained users of Psychological Assessments. ASP are able to outline candidates' strengths and weaknesses before they start, and provide additional information that is useful when building teams, divisions and start-ups. The information gathered can also be used to plan ongoing individual development.
  • We are encouraging our clients to join us in improving the levels of professional recruitment. Clients who guarantee certain levels of business will qualify to train, at our expense, for British Psychological Society Levels A & B, allowing you to buy and use psychologically robust and recognised ability and personality assessments. These courses commercially cost £2000 each.

Our Story

ASP's Managing Partner successfully ran a group of Recruitment Consultancies over a period of several years and after their sale decided to investigate what differentiates high performing recruitment consultants from the rest. After qualifying as an Assessment Psychologist in 1996 he dedicated his research to studying this issue with the knowledge that the answer could have a direct impact on a recruitment company's revenue. After graduating he began to apply the results of his research and use his model in the recruitment to recruitment industry with significant success. Most recently David formed ASP with Partners and in association with ASE one of the UK's leading providers of assessments, training and consultancy in the field of recruitment.

Our Aim

ASP are specialists in the recruitment to recruitment sector. Our aim is to revolutionise the industry by increasing levels of professionalism and reducing the staff turnover to the benefit of the individual and recruitment consultancy alike. ASP have identified four major factors that determine the high performance of a Recruitment Consultant:

  • Personality and ability and the Consultant
  • Emotional intelligence
  • Cultural match between the Company and the Consultant
  • Motivation of the Consultant

The last two factors are difficult to measure scientifically, however we are able to measure the first. We gather this information through our assessments and use it to help you positively impact your bottom line.

Our Model

As a result of investigating the personality traits and abilities of high performing recruitment consultants, ASP has been built a Psychological model of the Ideal UK Recruitment Consultant. Originally, 56 highly successful recruiters and 56 recruiters who were performing poorly were put through a battery of psychological assessments to establish the difference between the 2 groups. This sample is now over 700 strong and demonstrates that there are 12 personality and cognitive differences between them. This is the first research of its kind in the UK and the sample is constantly added to. ASP have also recently designed a structured interview for the UK recruiter based on this research and our vast experience in the field.

Our Assessments

The assessments used by ASP have all been endorsed by the British Psychological Society and are only available for use by Psychologists or trained practitioners. The process is held in a comfortable, relaxed environment and takes about 2 hours. It involves undertaking a leading Personality Inventory which will analyse personality traits such as emotional stability, extroversion, conscientiousness, tough mindedness and openness; a Business Development Aptitude, which looks at your preferred selling styles and finally a Critical Reasoning appraisal which measures how you absorb and analyse information. Feedback is given at mutually convenient time. All of this is free to candidates and would normally cost at least £500!

Our Consultants

ASP Consultants are either Psychologists or trained Assessors who also have recruitment experience within the sector plus a strong track record of achievement within at least one other recruitment field.

Our Services

  • Search , Selection or Contingency Recruitment
  • Psychological assessment of existing recruitment consultants
  • Psychological assessment of potential employees that are not being recruited through ASP
  • High level psychological assistance such as the development of Assessment Centres, Work Samples or Structured Interviewing.

Our Candidates

All candidates the we assist have been put through a range of assessments and with their permission the results of their assessments are available to all clients in a user- friendly format. This information can provide valuable insights for both the individual and the recruiting company as to the strengths and weaknesses of the individual and will allow for a realistic appraisal of the likely match.

Our Clients

ASP works with a wide range of clients across a range of industries from major players to small start up concerns.

" More agencies now realising that success in the recruitment sector is correlated to personalities and competencies more than functional experience "
The ideal recruiter is born not made. Whilst we would like to know that maybe it is otherwise, a strong body of evidence suggests that it is the interplay of eleven personality factors, plus an intelligence threshold that is the elixir of success."
Research undertaken in 1996
